Upcycled Fire Extinguisher Candle Holder #9 gives a familiar piece of safety equipment a completely different purpose. Its red metal body, looping black hose and original pressure gauge preserve the character of its working life, while a large front opening frames the candle inside.

Black trim outlines the opening and complements the original fittings and base. With a candle glowing inside, it becomes an unusual focal point for a living room, hallway, home bar or workshop.

The opening measures approximately 13cm wide and 28cm tall, offering space for a range of small, medium and large candles, subject to safe fit and clearance.

Choose a candle that sits securely inside with generous space around and above the flame. The opening measurements are not maximum safe candle dimensions. A suitable LED candle is also a simple way to enjoy the effect without an open flame.

Candle use and care

Stand on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface. Keep any flame clear of the body, trim, hose, handle and nearby objects. If adequate clearance cannot be maintained, use an LED candle instead.

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from children, pets, draughts and combustible materials. Metal may become hot during use; allow it to cool before handling.
