Once designed to put fires out, this reclaimed fire extinguisher now provides a home for a warm candlelit glow.

Upcycled Fire Extinguisher Candle Holder #7 combines the familiar red body, original handle and black hose with an open front that reveals the candle inside. Its distinctive shape makes it an eye-catching feature for a living room, hallway, home bar or workshop.

Handmade by The Revival Shed in Hampshire, it brings together reclaimed materials, practical design and the character of an object with a previous working life.

Space for your favourite candle

The front opening measures approximately 13cm wide and 28cm tall, providing access for a range of small, medium and large candles.

Choose a candle that sits securely inside with generous clearance around and above the flame. The opening dimensions describe the aperture, rather than the maximum safe candle size.

LED candles also work well, giving you the same welcoming glow without an open flame.

Using your candle holder

Place on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface. Keep the flame clear of the metal body, hose, handle and surrounding objects.

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from children, pets, draughts and combustible materials. The metal may become hot during use; allow it to cool before handling.

Use a suitable LED candle wherever adequate clearance for a real flame cannot be maintained.
