When the opportunity to upcycle and re-use something comes along, it’s often at the strangest of times

This particular coffee table started off life in a science and research laboratory in Cambridge where the tank was used as part of a laboratory grade oil free compressor feeding nitrogen generators. When that unit was retired and consigned to the rubbish heap, there it was looking at me in a forlorn unloved way. And in my world, a mad idea immediately sprung into life. Then after hauling it into my car (which was a bit of a beast to pick up at the tank weights about 60Kg) and my journey back to Hampshire was mostly spent daydreaming and then it all fell into place.

8 pieces of wood were bonded together with a biscuit jointer and sash clamp to form the worktop, then with the remaining coins from an earlier huge mirror project, some glitter and many Kg of epoxy resin, I created the worktop .

So please find for sale my unique centre piece coffee table.

One of my rules with the revival shed is that when I make something, it is then put up for sale, and when it sells, I go and make myself something else to put in it’s place.

It stands 55cm tall, 126cm long and 50wide and it an eye catching centre piece which everyone comments on then spends ages looking closely at, and I will admit that I am not in a rush to sell but the rules are the rules
