Some projects hold a special little place in my heart,  and this project started at a time that was rather tricky for all of us.

Yes, it was a week into the first lockdown and I had moved to a new house all on my own.  and whilst sat in a zen like buddha pose amongst the boxes full of accumulated tat, it was starting to dawn on me that I might actually need some furniture.  Now  some resources I had a decent supply on (Namely beer, toilet rolls and pasta) but open furniture shops seemed to be something that was a tad off the agenda.

So , instead of learning how to make sourdough bread, crochet or some other hipster style nonsense on those lovely hot evenings and weekends I grabbed my tools together to see  what is possible.

Now in my lounge this lovely table sat for a few years until a visit my my son and his fiancé.

So long story short,  it is now living a new life up in Scotland as part of a wedding present, and I hope it has many great memories and happy meals made around it for the happy couple.

Now, with every one of my little projects, there is of course a story to it all, so have a look below and see some of the pictures from that storybook.

As it was the first table I had ever made, it was a fun journey of discovery and highlighted that I needed to get even more tools !
